Jeremy Luke Is Ready To ‘Make Audiences An Offer They Can’t Refuse’ in ‘Mob Cops!’

Jeremy Luke is no stranger to the spotlight — or to playing characters who live on the edge of the law. In his latest role, he stars alongside David Arquette in ‘Mob Cops,’ a gritty new crime thriller that blends corruption, loyalty, and street justice. Known for his magnetic screen presence and sharp delivery, Luke has built a reputation as a go-to actor for roles that demand both toughness and heart. He’s left his mark in acclaimed projects like Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Irishman,’ the heist-driven ‘Inside Man,’ and the emotional landscape of ‘This Is Us.’ With ‘Mob Cops,’ Jeremy Luke steps deeper into the world of complex antiheroes, proving once again that he’s a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood’s evolving crime drama scene.

Mob Cops’ is a very intense and highly anticipated new film. Can you tell us a little about your role in the film and how you prepared for it?

I play a character named Leo Benetti, who is based on a real life, NYPD detective, who was working for the mafia and killing people. I was cast a month to the day before our first day of principal photography, so I had to prepare very quickly. I worked with fellow actor, Graham Sibley. Who was in the film as well. Every day for a month, the two of us got together and dug through the script. It was the most work that I have ever put into a movie in my career.

What drew you to working on this project?

I thought it was fascinating! A man who was an NYPD detective, grew up with family in the mafia and then became mafia himself. He was also an actor in the movie ‘Goodfellas,’ amongst others. That really drew me in as well.

What was it like working alongside David Arquette?

David was great. We got together and worked on the characters in the script. Usually when you’re doing movies, you don’t meet your partners until you get to set, but we had already created a bond. I did get to collaborate with director Danny Abackaser for the second time, which was awesome! He was very open to my interpretation and let me audition for the role, even though I didn’t fit the character physically.

The mob boss / cop legacy in Hollywood films is iconic. What was it like stepping into the shoes of the mob world genre?

Oh boy! I have been doing mob genre, movies, and shows for about 10 years now. Over the past five years I have done a bunch. I think it’s because of my age. HaHa.

How does ‘Mob Cops’ compare to your previous works in the sense of emotional or physical challenges?

The character of Leo is 70 pounds heavier than me and 10 years older than me. He definitely had a really well written arc that I enjoyed playing into. Usually, I don’t get to dig that deep because my characters usually don’t have arcs.

What was the most challenging or ‘unexpected’ moments while filming ‘Mob Cops?’

I wore 4 inch lifts through the shoot to make me taller. HaHa! They were very painful.

You and Jospeh Russo have great history working together. What’s the secret to that dynamic?

I don’t know what the secret recipe is, but we’ve made magic together for the past 15 years. He’s literally my acting soulmate.

Who are some of your biggest influences in the industry?

My acting teacher, Joe Palese was the number one influence in my life starting at 22 years old.
