OVERCOMPENSATING is a razor-sharp, dark comedic funny coming-of-age dramedy that follows Benny (Benito Skinner)—a charming but anxious college freshman—grappling with the pressure to project confidence while secretly struggling to accept his sexuality. As he navigates hookup culture, hyper-masculinity, and a social media-fueled campus obsessed with image, Benny finds himself overcompensating in all the wrong ways just to fit in. Surrounded by equally performative peers, the series unpacks the hilarious, messy, and deeply human lengths we go to when we’re terrified of being seen for who we really are. Equal parts savage satire and raw vulnerability, OVERCOMPENSATING exposes the hilarious and heartbreaking lengths we go to just to feel worthy in a world obsessed with appearances.
